Diazepam as Intravenous Anaesthetic Induction Agent.

Abstract
|
|
|
Benzodiazepine derivative, diazepam, was administered to 83 elective Surgery cases as an intravenous anesthetic induction agents.
After slow injection (2mg/min) of diluted Diazepam, all patient inhaled oxygen during respiratory volume check, and manitained anesthesia with Fluothane and N2O.
Intravenous administration of Diazepam gave.
1) Smooth and pleasant induction without cough, vomiting or laryngospasm. 2) Average dosage for adult was 23mg,but individual big difference was observed. 3) Slight respiratory depression was obvious in most patient.
Tidal volume decreased 9.8%.
4) Changes in B. P. and pulse were insignificant.
